I just sold some of my body-care stuff for the very first time! And I wasn't even soliciting. A lady I work with wanted to give her mother something and just out of the blue asked if I ever sell any of my soaps and butters and things. I hadn't, but said I would. She bought my new Shea Butter Spice Soap, Oatmeal & Honey Soap, Southern Jasmine Body Butter and also the Pucker Up Lip Balm.
I'm an entrepreneur!
Here is a picture from Christmas of some of the things I made for gifts, including the body butter, Honey & Oatmeal Soap and the lip balm she bought.
I've not really created anything to sell; mainly I just make goodies for me and a few friends, but when I get to the farm I might do a real low-key production of my favorite products and see how it goes. If I have time after working in the garden, hanging out with the chickens and other animals and puttin' up all my fruits and veggies. Oh yeah, and sewing and quilting and pot making and crocheting and wandering around barefoot in the fields and pokin' the tadpoles if I can sneak up on one and okay I'll shut up.
In the meantime, I just got an email stating that the International Shea Butter Convention is going to be here in October. It is probably too business-oriented for me; but I'm checking out their itinerary. If they gave out big free samples of all the different grades of shea I might be tempted to go. I'm about out and need some soon!
