I've been lax in my blogging the past few days, but my mind has been heavy and sometimes I don't want to share my heavy mind. But I'm back in a more light and breezy mode and feel like yakking. I just wish I had more to "report". My weekend was not very productive and I think I've figured out why. Mike was home most of the time - and he's a bad influence! Yep, that must be it because when he's working or out and about I get so much done. But, I've decided that not being super productive was a good thing this time because we got to spend some unrushed time together. We actually relaxed a bit and watched a silly movie together. We don't do enough of that, so I'm not complaining. It was fun.
And I finally went to the library down the street. Why did I wait so long? I got ten books and wanted to get more, but controlled my giddiness a bit. Of course, I am spoiled by amazon.com. I key in what I'm looking for and am flooded with sometimes too many choices. And I enjoy reading all the reviews. The library felt a little sparse in comparison, but I was able to find enough to keep me captivated for a few hours so far. Here are the books I got.
My next favorite book so far is the Enchanted Broccoli Forest by Mollie Katzan. What impressed me about it, other than the recipes, is that Mollie hand wrote the whole book and did all the illustrations. It's got a nice, homey feel to it.
I like having a stack of new books to check out... and can't wait to finish these and go back to get more. I just wish I had more time to read.
Another good thing going on right now is that we're finally getting some rain. Lots of rain. What relief. Tropical storm Fay is still hanging in there and has reached us! But we're glad; we need the rain terribly.
