Yep, I'm thinking about becoming a flaming redhead! It's not that I don't like my blonde color, but I obtain it by using chemicals from a company I don't respect or want to give any more money to. I hate the smell, the way it feels and the thought of poison soaking into my head! So I've been doing some research on henna and what my hair might look like afterward. The unpredictability of the color is a little disconcerting, but I won't switch until I am retired this summer, so if I look like a carrot top for a few days or weeks it won't really matter. And Mike loves the idea of my hair being red. And I've always wanted red hair!
I've been spending some time on mehandi and hennaforhair and am becoming inspired! I was under the impression that I couldn't use henna on my chemically colored hair, but it appears that I can - providing I use pure henna. Look at the before and after picture of a lady with her beautiful silver hair and then the striking henna red. I love both colors! Unfortunately for me, my gray looks like dirty dishwater and makes my face look haggard. I'm thinking a shot of red might liven things up a bit, be good for my hair, make it feel thicker and get me away from the nasty chemicals. Mike already colors my hair for me, so won't mind continuing on even though I know henna is known to be quite messy.
So... any henna heads out there have any advice or comments? I'd love to hear them.
