This will be our last weekend working on the house we're going to sell and Mike has begun interviewing real estate agents. Yay to that! After living in our cabin for two weeks now, it will be mighty nice to actually spend some time there.
I'm taking off work this Monday to get the cabin in better order and will go ahead and start my veggie seeds inside; at least I'll get a 4-week jump-start, though I was hoping to get a 6 to 8-week one. Still, I can't wait to see how well these seeds do. I've got to get my garden book ready... the one in which I'm I'm going to record the different plants I am growing, varieties, germination, etc., etc...I'm eying A Gardener's Journal - For a Lifetime of Recording at Amazon. It's not cheap, but the reviews are all 5-star. It would nice to have something already set up in a logical way to make it easier for my already overwhelmed brain.
Last night I mistakenly left work an hour early. I got into the car and turned on the radio and wondered why the show I usually listen to wasn't on. DOH! It was only 2:55! I called my boss and he laughed and I headed on down the road to meet Mike and then drive to the farm. (In my 46 years of working, I've never left at the wrong time!) It was great though because we got home early enough to get some projects done! Mike built our temporary desk and put together the computer area and tonight I'm hoping to get it hooked up and be online at home once again! I've not been able to get pictures off my camera or check email or blog or anything much lately because of my computer parts being in boxes. At first I liked being detached because we had so much to do that any distraction was annoying. But now that we live there, I miss running to the computer when I want to check the weather, look up a recipe or whatever.
One interesting thing I've noticed at the cabin... we have well water there and I'm very happy about that because the city water I've used for years and years has chlorine and fluoride in it, among other things. Our well water has been tested and is safe to drink, etc. (though we still run the drinking water through a reverse osmosis filter). I've noticed that my hair has stayed clean longer since using the well water. I'm washing it just once a week! Is there any connection? And, my hair feels softer as well. I don't think the water is particularly hard since soap lathers easily, but I'd like to get a more detailed report on it - just so I know what I'm dealing with. So far I really like it!
I'll be blogging regularly again very soon I think. I want to document our first vegetable garden there and since it's starting out as a field of grass, there will be some work involved. Fun work though!
