The weather yesterday was so beautiful that Sophie and I spent some time outside near the cabin running around and watching the leaves fall. She chased a few as they drifted to the ground and was in a fun and playful mood. The sky was bright blue and I kept looking up at it and the trees. We live adjacent to a protected national forest and there are trees everywhere for miles and miles. We are definitely forest mountain people (as opposed to desert, beach or plains people, for example - not that there is anything wrong with those topographies - all are beautiful). Here is a little of what I saw...
This is the view right next to the cabin, door entry side:
And while standing on the left side of the deck in the front of the cabin; these trees are only beginning to change color:
A pine tree behind the cabin:
And some foliage a bit closer:
Here is one of the trees that shades the chicken coop/run area:
And here is Sophie sitting on a mossy rock waiting for me to finish taking a picture so we can walk around some more...
It's such a beautiful time of the year. Off in the distance I can see mountaintops and they are all shades of red, yellow, brown, orange and green. Did I mention that October is my favorite month?
