Location: Foothills of the Appalachian Mountains in north Georgia
My name is April and I've always wanted to live in the country with lots of animals and space to wander, grow things and marvel at nature. My husband, Mike, and I finally moved full time to our little farm that we bought in 2006. We are in the process of turning a diamond-in-the-rough to a beautiful place. While we've both had pets and gardens, we've never had farm animals or very large gardens. We have a lot to learn and this blog will serve as our diary, logging all the ups and downs and wonders of shifting from the city to the country.
Mike has opened a tool and equipment rental and repair shop here in our new town and spends a lot of time at his huge man cave building the business.
Pottery, painting, photography, soaping, bee-keeping, jewelry making, aromatherapy, sewing, crochet, veggie and herb gardening, animal rights, growing things, long hair, exercising, reading, researching, cooking... and collecting books and articles on how to do all of the above.
