Saturday afternoon Mike and I, along with Melanie - my niece, and her son, Christopher - my great nephew (holy cow, that makes me sound ancient), went to Sarah and Jesse's baby shower and had fun watching them open lots of cute baby gifts. Sarah is due to have Margot in March and that means she could be a Pisces - the coolest of all zodiac signs... in my unbiased and humble opinion of course. Sarah is the prettiest mother-to-be.
I didn't take too many pictures because I really dislike shooting with a flash; it causes weird shadows to bounce all over the place. But it was a dark and dreary day so I had little choice.
Here are Jesse and Sarah opening the gifts Mike and I gave them.
I haven't have time to crochet anything for Margot yet, so gave them the sweater I made for Jesse when he was three. It's not particularly girlie looking, but Margot will be cool enough to wear it I'm sure when she's older. We also gave them a BABYBJÖRN baby carrier like in this picture. The carriers have improved a lot since I had Jesse. I remember I wore some sort of sling thing. It worked great though and kept my arms from getting tired when I was toting Jesse about.
They played some crazy games at the party. One was a contest to see who could drink beer out of baby bottle the quickest. Mike joined in on that one and here is a shot of all the contestants. They had a hard time getting any beer out of the tiny holes and finally called it. Mike didn't win because his nipple popped out and he was disqualified - ha!
So the countdown is on for Margot to make her appearance. All is going well and everyone is healthy. It's going to be an interesting and fun 2010.
